We are pleased to announce that the Government of New Brunswick recently posted draft amendments to the Designated Materials Regulation – Clean Environment Act regulation, with the objective of establishing new extended producer responsibility (EPR) Battery and Lamp waste diversion programs in New Brunswick. These draft amendments can be reviewed here until May 31, 2024.

For the new programs, Batteries and Lamps, producers will need to register with Recycle NB by October 31, 2024, and submit a stewardship plan for approval by December 31, 2024. Call2Recycle is already working on the preparation of a program plan for the New Brunswick battery recycling program, and we will continue to update you regularly during the year regarding the next steps.

Please check back shortly on our New Brunswick provincial page for further updates. Once the registration with Recycle New Brunswick opens, we will notify Members of the steps to register.
